Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has already chosen his priority club between Liverpool and Manchester United this summer.
The Dutchman has been a key player for the north London giants, but he is expected to leave them even if they avoid relegation from the top-flight.
United have recently entered the pursuit of the Netherlands international, but it appears Van de Ven would choose Liverpool over them this summer.
The centre-back would want assurances of regular playing time next term, which may not be guaranteed at United due to competition for places.
He may struggle to displace Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez if the Red Devils pairing are deemed fit at the beginning of next season.
At Liverpool, the door could open in the short-term. Virgil van Dijk is no longer in his prime, and Van de Ven could be his future replacement.
Spurs are expected to demand at least £60m for his services this summer.
