Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has expressed his delight following the club's FA Cup semi-final win over Leeds United at Wembley Stadium.

  • The Blues recently parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior and appointed McFarlane as caretaker. The latter has now guided the club into the FA Cup final.

The Blues secured a slender 1-0 win thanks to Enzo Fernandez. Speaking after the game, McFarlane said: "It was a tough game, really tough game. You know what Leeds do, and they are good at what they do, and it's a massive occasion for them, where they all want to get to an FA Cup final."

Chelsea are currently eighth in the Premier League standings with 48 points and have lost their last five matches without scoring. They may not even qualify for Europe with a top-six or top-seven finish this term.

Hence, their prospects of playing in Europe could depend on lifting the FA Cup. A victory in the final guarantees a spot in the Europa League.
