Acheampong to leave Chelsea soon?

Chelsea open to selling Josh Acheampong

23 May 2026 - 20:26

Chelsea have opened the door for the potential transfer of club graduate Josh Acheampong this summer.

  • Xabi Alonso makes transfer decision on Marc Cucurella
  • Calum McFarlane confirms Chelsea injury boost vs Sunderland

  • The young defender has had limited playing time with the Blues since his breakthrough, which has spread speculation regarding his future.

Bayern Munich were linked with his services at the start of the year, but the west London giants had no desire to part ways with the 20-year-old.

However, the scenario seems to be different heading into the summer.

Incoming Blues manager Xabi Alonso is planning to bring in at least one centre-back and wants a reunion with Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba.

This could coincide with the likes of Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile leaving the club. There is also talk that Acheampong could be sold for the right price.

Aside from Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Atalanta are keeping a close eye on Acheampong, who could be sold for around £45 million,

Acheampong is reportedly open to pursuing a new challenge abroad.
