Manchester United have made a tentative approach to sign Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos this summer, according to journalist David Ornstein
The Red Devils are determined to bolster their midfield department ahead of next season, and they have already secured a deal for Atalanta's Ederson.
The club are now looking into a deal for Santos and have already contacted the player's representative about a possible transfer.
Chelsea are open to parting ways with Santos for the right price, knowing that he won't be a guaranteed starter for them going forward as well.
Santos is considered a back-up choice behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, and is unlikely to be a regular starter for the Blues.
It has been reported elsewhere that the Blues could sanction his sale for around £50m and have no concerns in selling to a direct rival.
Chelsea have done plenty of business with United lately. They signed Alejandro Garnacho from the Red Devils last summer.
