Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho is expected to pursue a new challenge away from the Blues this summer.
The Argentine winger signed for the Blues from Manchester United last year and it was regarded as a huge coup, given his good track record at the Red Devils.
However, Garnacho barely impressed for the west London giants, and the hierarchy have now made the decision to part ways with his services.
Speaking his first presser as Blues manager, Alonso acknowledged that the board have decided to sell Garnacho and a solution could be sorted soon.
He said: "The situation is that we have spoken with the sporting directors. There is interest in him from other clubs. Hopefully it finishes in the best possible way for everyone."
Garnacho is attracting interest from Serie A giants Roma. The winger is likewise keen on joining the Giallorossi, who are back in the Champions League after an extended break of seven years.
Chelsea want at least 43 million pounds to part ways with Garnacho, but Roma prefer a loan with an obligation to buy next summer. Further discussions are expected to take place.
