Everton looking to sign Barcelona youngster Hector Fort

15 August 2026 - 10:08

Everton are reportedly pursuing Barcelona youngster Hector Fort, with the Merseyside club said to be at the front of the queue for his signature as they continue to assess possible additions before the transfer window closes.

  • According to a report carried by Yahoo Sports on August 15, Everton lead the race for Fort, with a potential fee of around £15 million referenced in connection with the move. The development places the Goodison Park side firmly in the conversation for a player who is currently on Barcelona’s books and regarded as a young option who could strengthen Everton’s squad depth.

The interest comes at a stage of the summer when clubs are increasingly focused on finalising targets and moving quickly where opportunities arise. For Everton, Fort would represent a forward-looking signing, with the club looking beyond short-term fixes as they shape their squad for the campaign ahead.

Barcelona’s stance will be central to whether any deal can progress. The Spanish club would need to decide whether they are prepared to sanction an exit, while Everton must also determine how far they are willing to go financially if rival interest develops.

As things stand, the report suggests Everton are well placed, but no completed agreement has been indicated. The coming days could therefore prove important, particularly if the Premier League side choose to formalise their interest and push negotiations forward.

Fort’s situation is now one to watch closely, with Everton’s pursuit giving the transfer story fresh momentum. A move would depend on the clubs reaching an understanding over valuation and structure, but the latest claims point to Everton being serious contenders for the Barcelona youngster.
