Real Madrid and Barcelona are making progress towards signing Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel.
The 16-year-old has decided to leave the Mancunian giants, and he has already declined a scholarship deal.
Gabriel recently hired a new agent in Ali Barat and Sport claim that progress is being made with interested clubs.
Madrid and Barcelona are leading the race and it is claimed that the former have an upper hand in the pursuit.
United have yet to de-register JJ Gabriel, but it appears a matter of time before that is formally concluded.
If the club were to decline, the youngster could wait until the end of the campaign before moving to La Liga.
JJ Gabriel is eligible for an Irish passport through his father, which means he could join Madrid or Barcelona immediately.
He is likely to feature for their academy in the near future, and may have to wait until next season for his first-team break.
