Robson tips Shearer for job

Sir Bobby Robson believes that it is only a matter of time before England and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer takes up a full time job in management. Newcastle and Blackburn had been linked with making a move for him.

Robson told Setanta Sports News: “Alan will have his own personal reasons for that (rejecting Blackburn).



“But I think there will be a time when he has done a few things that he has wanted to do after playing when he might be a bit more ready for the big jobs, the big tasks.



"We’ll have to wait and see. He is his own man who makes his own decisions and we will see what happens.



"I think he is destined for Newcastle one day. I don’t think there is any more pressure at a big club because the risk is the same at a big club as it is at a small club."
