Dutch defender Wilfried Bouma is hoping that Aston Villa make a number of signings this year. It is understood that Martin O'Neill is expected to make three or four signings in the transfer window.
"The Premier League is a hard league and we have done particularly well with the small squad we have got. Hopefully we can get some more bodies in this summer," he told the club's official website.
"We have been very lucky with injuries. If you have a small squad with a lot of injuries then you risk breaking up what we are trying to achieve. Touch wood, we can do that.
"As for how many, only the manager can decide."
