  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Amelia is not a well known name beyond Italy, although he is the second best for the Azzuris standing tall behind Gigi Buffon. The talented Amelia was linked with moves to Lazio and AC Milan, but have opted to join Palermo.

The deal is worth 5.5M euros, and he will replace veteran Alberto Fontana as number one choice. He said that his main objective was to stay in Italy and become the first choice goalkeeper.

"When I chose to leave Livorno I didn't think about the possibility of playing in the Champions League or the UEFA Cup, I just wanted an environment where I could improve day after day."
