Trez to stay at Juventus

02 July 2008 - 17:02

Juventus striker David Trezeguet will be staying at the club, despite the interest of Barcelona. Club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli confirmed that a deal for the forward would not be going ahead.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • “Our aim is to strengthen the team, we need a midfielder and hopefully a solution will be found next week,” Cobolli Gigli told the domestic press.

“I understand the fans would like [Dejan] Stankovic in, but other details have to be considered. We’ll meet with Inter this week.

“Trezeguet is here to stay, no doubts he remains with us,” he added. “We’re not interested anymore in Portuguese [Miguel] Veloso.

“We remain keen on [Alberto] Aquilani, but there’s no agreement regarding a contract.”
