Aston Villa's Danish defender Martin Laursen has announced that he fully intends to stay at the Villains. Laursen has been linked with a move back to Italy, where he once played with Milan.

  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • Laursen has yet to discuss a new contract at the club, but admitted he would like to sign one.

"I have been happy to read the manager's comments, and I would like to stay here," the 30-year-old told the Birmingham Mail.

"I don't think I will make a four-year contract. But I hope to make a two or a three-year deal if they want me here.

"We had a quick chat just before the season ended. He said he was happy with me and I told him I am happy here as well.

"I like to play here. I like to play in England. It suits my game very much, so yes, we can talk about that."
