Real Betis have moved a step closer to landing Mehmet Aurelio from Fenerbahce this summer. New boss Luis Aragones has reportedly told the player that he can leave the club.
Aurelio impressed during the Euro 2008 tournament over the summer, and the 30 year old has been given the opportunity to try his hand in one of Europe's biggest leagues.
The move for Aurelio would be Betis' first major swoop of the summer. The defensive midfielder originally hails from Brazil, but decided to represent Turkey.
