Villa made Bentley bid

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince has confirmed that his club received an offer from Aston Villa for England international midfielder David Bentley; and the Rovers' boss is keen to keep the player at the club.

Bentley has also been the subject of interest from Tottenham and Liverpool this summer - and as of yet his future remains unknown.



"As for the David Bentley situation, that will not go away, only time will tell whether he is here in August. He would have played here tonight if he had not been injured.



"We have had an offer from Aston Villa, but I do not want him to go," Ince insisted.
