Maradona to coach Argentina

29 October 2008 - 05:45

Diego Maradona is looking set to take over the vacant role of Argentina's national coach. The 48 year old, considered a legend in his homeland, admitted that talks are still ongoing.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Argentina are now looking to turn to 'the prodigal son' after Alfio Basile quit on October 16th after a terrible start to World Cup qualification.

Argentina lost 1-0 to Chile in Santiago, and that seemingly was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"I don't want to open the champagne before it happens,'' Maradona said in an interview with radio station Mitre.
