Tevez happy for Maradona

30 October 2008 - 06:21

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has admitted he is delighted that legendary Argentina international Diego Maradona has taken charge of his homeland's national team.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • He told Radio La Red: "We could not have a better motivation than having Diego as a coach.

"I'm very happy for him. It's going to be funny. I hope I can get a seat close to him on the bus.

"I'm imagining myself training under him in March."

Maradona is a legend in his homeland, and Tevez added: "I think he'll want to come onto the pitch with us. I know him very well and I'm sure it'll be that way.

"Managing a group like ours isn't easy, as we're all key figures for our clubs.

"It won't be easy when he has to tell me, Roman (Riquelme) or (Lionel) Messi that he needs us all together all weekend when we want to see our families."
