Downing linked with Spurs.. again

13 May 2009 - 04:15

Middlesbrough midfielder Stewart Downing has yet again emerged as a target for Tottenham. The winger is unlikely to want to stay at the club if his club are relegated, which is looking increasingly likely.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • With David Bentley expected to make a move elsewhere in the summer, it is believed that Downing is being lined up as his number one replacement.

Downing could leave the club for a fee of about £10 million.

Middlesbrough have continuously struggled to keep hold of their prized asset, and now Tottenham are ready to take the plunge on the winger in the summer.
