Middlesbrough defender, David Wheater, will miss the England U-21 campaign due to a knee injury that would sideline him for the rest of the season.
The Boro centre back is the first one to pull out of the England U-21 squad ahead of the European Championship. He has a knee injury, and the doctors have advised him not to play the next month's tournament.
The U-21 boss Stuart Pearce said that it will be a big concern for England's defence in the tournament.
