Gilardino not going to Lyon

Gilardino not going to Lyon

26 July 2009 - 04:23

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino has rejected talk that he would be quitting the club and heading to Lyon this summer, insisting that he would be happy staying with the Viola side for another year.

  • Arne Slot confirms big Liverpool injury blow
  • Bournemouth close to signing Chelsea defender?

  • Gilardino has also been linked with a shock move to the Premiership, as Tottenham are reportedly interested in the player.

“I read about this in the newspapers, but I am happy in Florence and do not want to change teams,” Gila told Sky Italia television.

“My objective is to earn fourth place with Fiorentina as well as, obviously, going to the World Cup in South Africa.”

On his own contract, Gila added: “So far I have not signed for any clause and we have not even talked about it yet. When we sit around a table to discuss it, then we’ll see what happens.”
