Alonso submits transfer request

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has submitted a transfer request, according to reports. It is understood that the Spaniard is frustrated that Liverpool have so far rejected the £24 million offer from Real Madrid.

Reportedly, Real Madrid are not willing to match the £32 million valuation slapped on Alonso's head, and will only pay £24 million.



Therefore, the player has asked to be put on the transfer list and allowed to quit the club for Real Madrid at the earliest convenience.



Liverpool will now be forced to accept life without the midfielder.
