West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Scott Carson insists the squad put together at the Hawthorns is strong enough to avoid Premier League relegation this season.
The former England stopper has performed heroics as Roberto Di Matteo's men have raised eyebrows with some of their results this season, most notably the win at Arsenal and draw at Old Trafford, both of which defied the football predictions.
The Baggies now face West Ham in the Premier League and they will be looking to bounce back against the bottom club after suffering two successive defeats. Their chances of victory have been hampered as Youssouf Mulumbu is suspended and Jonas Olsson will be missing due to injury.
Despite their strong start to the season, with West Brom currently sitting in tenth spot, the club are still regarded among those teams who will battle relegation throughout out the season and the Premier League promotions reflect this.
For all the struggling clubs a strong squad is essential, and Carson claims the collection of players at West Brom are "definitely strong enough" to avoid the dreaded drop.
"The gaffer has always said that the squad is going to have to come into action this season and he is going to have to make a few changes now," he said.
"I am sure the people who come in will be more than ready."
Another Baggies player who is confident there is enough strength at the club to bounce back from their latest defeats is Steven Reid.
The midfielder told BBC West Midlands there is a "never-say-die attitude" among the squad and that is going to be vital if West Brom are to avoid Premier League relegation this season.
