Aliadiere wants Chelsea return

03 October 2007 - 21:26

Middlesbrough's striker Jeremie Aliadiere has declared he wishes to return back to action in time for October 21st against Chelsea. The ex-Arsenal striker has been out of action since Boro's game with West Ham.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • "I expect to be back and available for the Chelsea game," Aliadiere disclosed.

"That's my target and, at the moment, I'm fairly confident of hitting it.

"I'm feeling much better. I had a scan on Monday morning and it showed the damage I had is now back to normal and repaired.

"That means I can start to push things forward a bit more now, and I'm hoping to be back in training in a week or so.

    The French striker added,

"With the international break coming around then, that should mean I have at least a week of full training to get myself in shape for the Chelsea game.

Boss Gareth Southgate faces a plenty of problems with his forwardline depleted with Mido and Tuncay Sanli also out injured, as the Teessiders are away at Manchester City on Sunday.

Aliadiere added: "It's been a difficult period because a lot of our players have been injured at the same time.

"The problems seem to have really hit the strikers who started the season off quite well, but we haven't been scoring enough goals recently, Not only have I been out, but Tuncay and Mido have had their problems as well."
