Liverpool are looking at Argentina international defender Matias Silvestre, according to reports from Italy. The player is regarded as one of the hottest defensive prospects in Serie A
Currently playing regularly for Catania, Silvestre has shown he has excellent potential and many clubs have expressed an interest.
However, Catania revealed that Liverpool are amongst the largest clubs to show interest.
"Top of the list of those moving on is Silvestre," Pietro Lo Monaco, a general manager at the Italian side, reportedly told Itasportpress. "I'd struggle to keep him here, considering what a great player he is. There are two Italian clubs tracking him, but Liverpool and Villarreal are also interested in Silvestre."
