Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Argentina international defensive midfielder Fernando Gago, currently at Real Madrid.

The player is being tracked by several Premiership clubs, including Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham.



However, it is understood that the preferred destination for the player would be Anfield.
