26 June 2011 - 05:28

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been scouting Pavel Mamayev of CSKA Moscow, according to reports from Russia on Sunday morning. The defensive midfielder has been an important member of the first team for over two seasons, and is valued at around £3.5 million by his club.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • According to reports, Mamayev is eager to make a move elsewhere in Europe so that he can play more regularly for his national side. Mamayev hopes that with European experience, he can ensure he is part of the plans for the next World Cup with Russia.

It is understood that Mick McCarthy will have some competition to land the Russian, though, with Genoa, Fiorentina, Lille and PSV also interested.
