Bolton will make a bid of £1.5m to sign Birmingham midfielder Barry Ferguson this summer. It is understood that Newcastle have decided against signing the Scottish midfielder.

Owen Coyle has £5m to spend on new players this summer, and Barry Ferguson is one of the players he would like to bring in.



Birmingham, relegated to the Championship this season, have been told to cut the wage bill by 40 percent. Ferguson will be one of the players that makes way.
