West Ham have been put into transfer lockdown, after the club's owner, Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, saw his bank, Landsbanki, collapse. The transfer lockdown was confirmed by the club's vice-chairman.
Brescia sporting chief Gianluca Nani appears to be set to join West Ham as of next season. The role - as sporting director - is one that Icelandic chairman Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson has been looking to fill for some time.
Eggert Magnusson has sold his remaining shares in West Ham to owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, and Gudmundsson has now become the chairman in the club too. The 'Eggman' has also said that he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the club.
