The 2019/20 Premier League season did not start well for the Hornets. The team from Watford lost the majority of the games they played, recording only one win so far. At the moment, they occupy the very last place in the league standings and their chances of improving are rather bleak at the moment.
Aston Villa have made an enquiry to rivals Birmingham regarding the availability of boss Alex McLeish. The Scottish manager resigned on Monday and was very quickly made the front runner for the vacant Villa job. Birmingham are not impressed with the approach and reportedly many Villa fans are not happy with the speculation that McLeish is being lined up as Gerard Houllier's successor.
Former England coach Graham Taylor has hit out at current boss Fabio Capello, insisting that the Italian has to improve his communication and his style of man management if he is to be a success in the role.
Steve McClaren has been sacked as England manager after failing to qualify for Euro 2008. It is reported that McClaren has been given a £2.5m 'golden handshake' compensation package in order to leave. The under-fire boss will go down in history alongside Graham Taylor et al as one of the worst English managers in history.
Graham Taylor has insisted that Steve Mclaren will be out of work shortly after England fail to book their Euro 2008 qualification. England slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Russia in Moscow on Wednesday, and the last time they failed to qualify for a major tournament was 1994 when - ironically - Graham Taylor was at the helm.
