Aston Villa have opened talks with Manager Paul Lambert over a new deal. The Manager arrived at Villa Park in 2012 replacing Alex Mcleish.
Aston Villa Chief Executive Paul Faulkner has brushed aside the rumours that the club owner Randy Lerner is willing to sell the club. The American bought the club for £62.6 million in 2006 and has since on to invest close to quarter of a million pounds into the club.
Aston Villa will earn a reported 20m GBP from the sale of Stewart Downing, who looks set to complete a move to Liverpool in the coming days. Kenny Dalglish has already added Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam to his squad, and is desperate to add a 3rd.
