Chelsea accelerate talks to appoint Liam Rosenior

Chelsea have accelerated talks with sister club Strasbourg to appoint Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, according to L'Equipe.
The Blues recently ended their association with manager Enzo Maresca following a series of poor results. The club are expected to confirm a successor soon and Rosenior is the number one choice.
L'Equipe claim that talks have been accelerated between Chelsea and Rosenior, and an appointment could be made as early as next week.
Chelsea are presently fifth in the league standings, and just three points separate them from Liverpool for the final Champions League spot.
Hence, there is still plenty to play for, but the Blues must return to winning ways at the earliest possibility to stay in the mix for the top four.
The Blues face a daunting challenge against Manchester City on the road on Sunday where they will be without the suspended Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea are winless in the last 11 meetings against the Cityzens.
