Former Aston Villa striker Darren Bent knows a thing about scoring goals, and he's got something to say about the important last minute winner that his old side scored during Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Watford.

About his goals. During an explosive start to his career, the forward scored 82 goals for Charlton, Tottenham and Sunderland before moving to Aston Villa - where he bagged nine more crucial goals to keep Villa in the top flight under Gerard Houllier.

Bent replicated his efforts in a tough second season, but fell out of favour under Paul Lambert and after various loan spells, Bent ended up at Derby before finishing his career with Burton Albion.

He's scored a few - and now he has displayed a 'striker's union' attitude when it comes to the decision to award Tuesday's winner to Tyrone Mings - and not Ezri Konsa. Bent stated that he'd fight for it to be his goal.

“Mings doesn’t know a thing about it, I don’t know how they can call it Mings’ goal. Mings is on the floor, it takes the slightest of deflections and goes into the top corner." said Bent when speaking to Football Insider.

“I felt for him."

While Bent feels that he'd fight for Konsa's goal if that had occurred to him, he was more than happy to claim a goal that was truly, and totally, put in by a beach ball.
