‘No better feeling’ with ‘best mate’ for Sunderland’s England hero Defoe

Jermain Defoe was over the moon after scoring for England on Sunday.

The Sunderland striker, 34, marked his first international appearance since November 2013 with the opening goal at Wembley as the Three Lions beat Lithuania 2-0 in World Cup qualifying.

Defoe struck in the 21st minute when coolly finishing a neat pass from Raheem Sterling to net his 20th England goal in his 56th outing for his country.

Defoe was also lead out onto the Wembley pitch by 'best mate' Bradley Lowery who continues his fight with a terminal illness.
