Barcelona explain Ronnie sell-out

FC Barcelona technical secretary Txiki Begiristain has explained how the Ronaldinho sell-out to Italian side AC Milan came to fruition, stressing that all three parties are now happy with the deal.

Ronaldinho signed a three year contract worth 20 million euros with AC Milan on Tuesday night after the two clubs announced that Milan shall pay 21 million euros for the Brazilian international midfielder.

Begiristain explained on Wednesday that Barca, Milan and Ronaldinho himself all are glad that the months-long transfer saga is finally over.

"You can have 40 bids, but in the end what counts is the desire of the player," said Begiristain. "The player plays where he wants and in this case it must be recognized that Ronnie has given up some things to move to Milan.

"Ronaldinho gave up 15 per cent of the transfer fee he was entitled.

"We have managed to keep all three parties happy. We are happy because he made us happy and now he is happy."
