Aston Villa chase David Wheater
Aston Villa are hot favorites to land David Wheater from Middlesbrough. Boro were relegated to the Championship this season, and Wheater is one of the players likely to be leaving the club.
Martin O'Neill is reportedly ready to offer up to £7 million to land the England under 21 centre back, who would replace the void brought after the retirement of Martin Laursen.
Wheater is regarded as one of the best young defensive prospects in England, and Tottenham and Sunderland are also known to be interested.
