Aston Villa to seal N'Zogbia deal

24 July 2011 - 06:57

Aston Villa will finally complete the signing of Wigan attacking midfielder Charles N'Zogbia next Tuesday, in a deal worth £14m for the Latics. There had been talk that the Frenchman would go on strike should he not be allowed to join Villa, but he will soon have his chance to make the move.

  • N'Zogbia has been one of Wigan's best players for the last two years, scoring some memorable and important goals and helping keep Wigan in the Premier League for the 2011/12 season.

He is desperate to move elsewhere and with Aston Villa selling Stewart Downing and Ashley Young; there is money to be spent and the need for a suitable replacement.

N'Zogbia had been earmarked as the natural successor for Ashley Young by new boss Alex McLeish.

N'Zogbia will be offered a massive £75,000 per week contract at Villa Park and is expected to seal his transfer on Tuesday evening.
