Blackburn linked with shock Raul move

16 August 2011 - 10:07

Spain legend Raul has been linked with a shock switch from Schalke to Blackburn Rovers. This morning, several German papers reported that the English side would make a 1m GBP offer for the former Real Madrid man.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • It is understood that Blackburn owners, Venkys, have been on the look out for some of the best talent in Europe and see Raul as a good option.

However, Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick has laughed off the speculation.

"In terms of Raul it is the same as it is with all of the players of my squad. If he comes up saying he wants to move on we'll look into things," commented Rangnick.

"So far he hasn't said anything to me and we've not received any enquiries from any club.

"I have been speaking to Raul over the past months every now and then and he has said everything is fine.

"Raul is definitely an important player for our team, although there are eleven players on the pitch."
