Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is in discussions with his scouts regarding German striker Patrick Helmes. Sunderland are considering a transfer deadline move for the striker.
Currently playing at Wolfsburg, Helmes has consistently been one of the best forwards in the Bundesliga.
However, since arriving at Wolfsburg in January from Bayer Leverkusen, Helmes has grown frustrated and has reportedly decided to look for a move abroad.
Sunderland would have to pay as much as 8m EUR to secure the striker.
