Everton have signed Real Madrid misfit Royston Drenthe on loan for the rest of the season. Drenthe has been told that he can leave Madrid and is not part of Jose Mourinho's plans.
Since arriving at Real Madrid in 2007, Drenthe has found opportunities limited in Spain and has spent time elsewhere on loan.
With just one year left on his contract, Madrid are hoping that Drenthe can leave on loan for six months with a view to a permanent deal in January.
