Blackburn boss refuses to resign

Blackburn boss refuses to resign

10 September 2011 - 02:22

Blackburn boss Steve Kean will not resign, despite a letter from fan groups to the club owners Venky's requesting that Kean be fired from his job.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • However, Kean is confident he can reverse club fortunes at Ewood Park.

The signings of Simon Vukcevic, Yakubu and Scott Dann all look set to make their Premiership debuts this weekend for Blackburn, and Kean therefore asks for some patience from fans: "It [the letter] doesn't make me feel bad at all. I have a great relationship with the owners.

"I can understand the fans' frustration that we don't have a point on the board right now, but I think it's a minority of the fans and we share that frustration that we have not got points.

"I would say bear with us - we said judge us at the end of the transfer window.

"I think we now have a stronger squad than we had last year. If we can start getting points on the board - and quickly - then the top half is certainly achievable."
