Arsenal to rekindle Cahill interest

Arsenal to rekindle Cahill interest

23 September 2011 - 08:27

Bolton defender Gary Cahill is still an important target for Arsenal's transfer plans in January; with Bolton manager Owen Coyle revealing there are several other clubs interested in Cahill.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Cahill has been in excellent form in recent months, whilst he also scored his first England international goal against Bulgaria last month.

A move from Bolton to either Tottenham or Arsenal was scuppered at the last minute, due to the valuation of Bolton that is believed to be in the region of around 17m GBP.

However, Owen Coyle admits that there is significant interest in the centre back: “Whatever happens in January, happens. I have no problem with that. I think there will be more than Arsenal in for him.

“Arsene likes him as a player, he has been up front about it, but he is one of a number of admirers. There is nothing wrong with that, Gary is a top player.”
