Modric and Tottenham open contract talks

Tottenham and Croatian midfielder Luka Modric are sitting down and discussing a new contract. Modric had been linked with a move to Chelsea, but will now stay put at White Hart Lane.

There had been talk of a 40m GBP move to Chelsea earlier in the summer, but it appears Spurs are now ready to offer the Croat double money.



Modric currently earns around 55,000 GBP per week at Spurs, and the club will now almost double that to 100,000 GBP per week.
