Dida gets 2 match ban

Dida gets 2 match ban

11 October 2007 - 20:58

AC Milan goalkeeper Dida has been hit with a two-match ban for his theatrics in the Champions League match against Celtic last week. The Scottish champions have also been punished with a fine of £25k after a fan was allowed to run onto the Parkhead pitch and strike the player. It now appears that Milan will appeal the decision.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The fine was handed out because it is Celtic's responsibility to make sure supporters don't go onto the pitch when they host games.

Celtic could be fined another £25,000 if something similar happens in any of their home games in the next two years.

The supporter who ran onto the pitch has been arrested by police and banned from going to any of his team's matches ever again by Celtic.
