Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna underwent a successful surgery after fracturing his right fibula in the match against Tottenham.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The French Football Federation confirmed this news and stated that Sagna is expected to be out for at least three months.

This will most likely give youngster Carl Jenkinson an extended run in the team and add to Arsene Wenger's injury woes.

A statement on the club's official website read, "Bacary Sagna has undergone further assessment and investigations on his fractured right fibula with the club's medical team and specialists,

"As a result of these tests, Bacary has had surgery to stabilise the injury.

"The surgery went according to plan and there has been no significant alteration to the initial prognosis that Bacary will be out of action for a minimum of three months.

"Everyone at the club wishes Bacary a speedy recovery."

Sagna himself took to Twitter to share his views about his surgery.

"Hello my friends.thanks for your support.just woke up from surgery and still feel high, lol hope to recover and be back soon. I send u my ♥", he tweeted.
