Blackburn rally behind Steve Kean

08 October 2011 - 16:40

Blackburn Rovers' owners Venky's have rallied behind under fire manager Steve Kean, insisting that their coach is safe for the time being.

  • Chelsea defender confirms decision to leave club
  • Juventus and Roma to battle for 20yo Arsenal star

  • Large groups of Blackburn fans have congregated at Ewood Park to call for the Rao family to sack Kean after a run of poor form since taking charge of the club.

But Rovers' owners are happy with the way the team is being run so far.

Balaji Rao, one of the brothers who has a significant interest in the club, said: "The team is in the relegation zone now but it's going to come up, I am sure of that.

"We do know a few people have been generating thousands of emails demanding the ousting of Steve Kean, who is a brilliant manager.

"But we know the team is going in the right direction and we are very positive about the way the team is performing and the way it is going."
