WBA manager Roy Hodgson has been tracking the progress of Ivo Pekalski, the Swedish midfielder currently impressing with Malmo in the Allsvenskan.
Hodgson has a vast knowledge of the Scandinavian game, and has reportedly personally watched Pekalski in action.
The Swedish midfielder of Polish descent helped Malmo to the 2010 league title, and this year has been equally effective in the heart of Malmo's midfield.
The 20 year old - who has been capped several times by the Swedish under 21 side - is valued at around 3m GBP.
