Arsenal track Jose Rondon

Arsenal track Jose Rondon

Arsenal are reportedly tracking Malaga's Jose Rondon and plan an approach in the winter transfer window.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Venezuelan netted 14 times in 30 La Liga appearances for Los Boquerones last year, and although he has failed to score thus far in this season, he has been attracting plenty of interest from various clubs across the continent.

According to Spanish publication AS, Arsenal are looking to replace the seemingly ineffectual Chamakh and monitoring Rondon, 22, and view the Venezuela international as a possible replacement.

The Moroccan forward has been linked to mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain, who, reports claim, are looking to make a bid for the Arsenal flop in January.

Chamakh has been rather unimpressive in his stint at Arsenal since his Bosman transfer to the North London club in 2010.

The 27-year-old started his Arsenal career in promising fashion, but after his impressive early season form for Arsenal, he has only scored once in 23 games, a statistic which has seen him spend most of his time at Arsenal on the bench.

Chamakh now serves purely as a backup option for Robin van Persie, the Gunners’ skipper, and could leave the club if the right offer is made.
