Preview: Fulham vs. Everton

Preview: Fulham vs. Everton

23 October 2011 - 08:10

Fulham hosting Everton may not be the most high profile Premier League game on the fixture list today, but this game is of massive significance to both sides who find themselves just one point outside of the relegation zone.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Fulham and Everton both share 16th and 17th spot, and both in serious danger of relegation unless there is a rapid reversal of form.

Everton endured a miserable summer in the transfer market, as they were forced to sign players on loan just to add new faces to their squad; whilst Fulham manager Martin Jol spent a fortune in the transfer window and has a wealth of options to choose from.

These two teams arguably should not be in their respective positions in the league. This game therefore brings some major element of concern for both managers.

    SQUADS

James McFadden could make his first start for the first team since his return to Goodison Park. Bobby Zamora and Clint Dempsey are ready for a first team recall, while Danny Murphy faces a late fitness test.

    FORM

Everton have only managed to win just once at Fulham in the Premier League. The Toffees simply do not like visiting Craven Cottage. Whilst Fulham have only managed one win this season in the league.

This is sure to be a scrappy affair, but expect to see at least some goals.

    PREDICTION

    Fulham 2-1 Everton

    GOALSCORER

    Bobby Zamora
