Roberto Mancini has apologised to club fans for Manchester City's early exit from the UEFA Champions League last night. The 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich would not be enough to qualify, as Napoli cashed in with a win over Villarreal ZVCXPQV6Q279

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • It would be a tough night for Man City, who hoped to lift the Champions League in their first ever showing in the showpiece tournament.

Mancini said: "We are a good team. We played well, we're very sorry for our supporters and I'm sorry for our players.

"I think we need to improve as a team because we got a tough group [in the Champions League] this year.

"Congratulations to Napoli, they got one point more than us."
