Isaac Cuenca rejects contract offer

Isaac Cuenca rejects contract offer

14 December 2011 - 08:20

Barcelona youth product Isaac Cuenca has reportedly turned down a contract extension from the Catalan giants as he believes that the terms suggested are not good enough.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Cuenca operates primarily as a right winger, and is tipped to be one of the members of the next generation of Barcelona superstars, alongside players like Thiago Alcantara and Martin Montoya.

He joined Barcelona's youth academy, La Masia, in 2003 when he was just 12 but left two years later only to return in 2009.

His development as a player has seen him play eight games this season, scoring two goals in the process.

His contract expires at the end of the current season and Barcelona are keen to tie him down to a long term deal. However, a report by tribalfootball claims that the terms offered are nowhere as good as those offered to Thiago Alcantara and Martin Montoya.

It is hence believed that Cuenca is unhappy and will consider his future elsewhere if Barcelona do not offer him a better deal.
