Chelsea smashes transfer records by £84M Hulk bid

01 January 2012 - 06:53

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is preparing a massive £84M bid to sign Givanildo Vieira "Hulk" de Souza from Porto FC in an attempt to overhaul his attacking department.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Hulk had been an integral part of AVB's Portugese Primeira League winning team firing 23 goals and topping the goal charts. Hulk's agent, Theodoro Fonseca, said that the player would like to re-unite with his former boss.

"Hulk will agree to work with Andre and they enjoy a good relationship. Anything is possible so his future depends on agreement between both clubs" said Fonseca.

Hulk has a buy out clause of £84M and Chelsea might want to trigger it if the Portugese league champions are to sell him. This would break the £80M transfer record set by Real Madrid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sources from Porto told that they have not received any formal offer for Hulk from Chelsea, however, the possibility of a move still exist.
